How I Review
Every review is based on my personal experience, and I evaluate each establishment on three key criteria:
Taste
Flavor, quality of ingredients, cooking technique, and overall deliciousness.
Value for Money
Portion size, pricing, and whether the experience justifies the cost.
Service
Staff friendliness, wait times, ambiance, and overall dining experience.
The overall rating is an average of these three scores, giving you a balanced view of what to expect.
My Personal Tastebuds
While I strive to be as objective as possible in my reviews, taste is inherently subjective. What I find delicious, you might find bland, and vice versa. Understanding my personal preferences can help you calibrate my reviews to your own palate.
What I Love
- •Cuisines: Japanese (my favorite!), Korean, Chinese, Thai, and other Asian flavors
- •Flavor profiles: Sweet, salty, and spicy combinations
- •Textures: Crispy, tender, and well-balanced dishes
Not My Thing
- •Sour foods: Not my go-to flavor profile
- •Soup-heavy dishes: I prefer dry or sauced dishes
- •Overly rich/heavy meals: Balance is key for me
A Note on Context
Dining experiences are shaped by many factors beyond just the food—the time of visit, day of the week, staff on duty, your own mood, and even the weather. My reviews capture a moment in time and may not reflect every visit. A restaurant having an off day doesn't mean it's always bad, and a great experience doesn't guarantee perfection every time. Take my reviews as one data point in your dining decisions!
